Christophe Cario appointed new Managing Director of Meraxis subsidiary Fournier Polymers

Muri b. Bern/Schweiz, 16. January 2026 – The Meraxis Group has appointed Christophe Cario as Managing Director of Fournier Polymers. Since January 1, 2026, the experienced manager has taken the lead of the distribution company, which has been part of the Meraxis Group since 2023. Fournier is one of the leading distributors of standard and technical polymers and additives in Europe and North Africa. With this new appointment, Meraxis is consistently continuing to expand its presence in these markets and strengthening its product portfolio.

Cario has more than twenty years of experience in international polymer and chemical distribution. Most recently, he was Managing Director France & North Africa at the Biesterfeld Group, where he was responsible for business in European and North African markets. Prior to that, he held management positions at A. Schulman (LyondellBasell) for many years, including EMEA Head of Sales & Marketing Specialty Powders and Technical Polymers Distribution Manager EMEA. His areas of expertise include strategic market development and the establishment and expansion of international sales teams. Cario holds a Master of Science in Polymer Science from the Université de Reims Champagne-Ardenne and a Master in Management from Montpellier Business School.

Cario takes over the role of Managing Director from Chief Operating Officer (COO) Emmanuel Tarret, who previously fulfilled this role in addition to his other duties and to whom Cario now reports directly. This appointment underlines Meraxis’ strategic orientation. Following the acquisition of Fournier Polymers and the integration of the Velen compounding plant, the group is further expanding its market position along the entire plastics value chain.
